English Abstract
The aim of the work is the enhancement of power system transient stability by proposed a nonlinear excitation and governor systems coordinated controller design for power plants.
A generator controller was mathematically modeled and tested ; (he controller was based on the modern control theory for multi-input and multi-output system.
The controller was applied to a typical multi-machine power system, by using linear quadratic regulator technique several cases were investigated, the first with an optimal excitation control, the second with optimal governor control and the last was the proposed control approach which produces a coordinated control of the excitation and governing systems under the proposed fault type and fault duration.
A computer program was developed for determine the feedback loops gain by using MATLAB technical language.
A comparison with a classical excitation and governor control was made> from result obtained it was clear that the suggested coordinated control can achieve considerably better performance in improving the transient stability of power systems.
