English Abstract
Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) has been chosen as the third generation mobile network (3G).
The performance of the CDMA system depends highly upon the capability of the receiver for maintaining synchronization well between the received signal and the receiver code.
This synchronization is accomplished in two stages: acquisition and tracking. This thesis mainly concentrates on code tracking algorithms for CDMA systems.
At first, design and implementation of code tracking algorithms has been done using Matlab software version (7) under different channel conditions.
An algorithm is proposed in which improved the window block correlation tracking algorithm.
The results of computer simulation tests show that it best in saving the data rate, less complexity and fester in decision to get the synchronization as compared with the other algorithms and it has good performance over Additive Wight Gaussian Noise (AWGN) with very low signal lo noise ratio reach 10 (-40dB). At last, the FPGA implementation of the delay lock loop algorithm and the proposed algorithm is done over the Xilinx-Spartan FPGA platform.
The implementation of the proposed algorithm reduces ; the cost of the system in terms of FPGA cells by (6 %), the number of 4 Input Look up Tables by (8 %) and the number of Bonded Input-Output Blocks by (35 %) compared with the delay Jock loop algorithm.
The implementation reports obtained from the Xilinx Foundation ISE version (9.2i) and the simulation results obtained from Model Sim SE / EE PLUS 5.4a.
