English Abstract
This work involves the design and construct of an integrated software package.
This package could be used to produce digital maps for civil engineering applications.
The main objective of this work is to design a friendly use package, as compared to GIS programs.
The limitations and drawbacks of these programs have been reduced to minimum.
Different sources of information could be used as input data in the designed software.
These include; satellite images, aerial photos, existing maps, GPS measurements, tabular information, databases and other sources of information.
Part of Baghdad is chosen as the study area.
Using SPOT satellite image, digital map has been produced to the study area.
Then, GPS measurements were used to add some features that were not existing in the satellite image.
This is well known as map revision.
The end user program is included on CD - ROM accompanied with this thesis.
