English Abstract
Due to expansion in building especially high-elevated buildings, there has been an increase in the demand for the high speed lifts and in the load capacity of the lifts.
This has created entail problems, which entail a modification to the manufactured lift parts in turn requires thorough rechecking of the previous designs of these parts to ensure the safety, therefore an engineering program has been designed for this purpose.
In this study Passenger Lifts Design Package (PLDP) has been built in by using Visual Basic Program to reach the optimum design for the lift engineering parts.
The equations related to the designing of the lift parts have been collected, especially for those of traction lifts.
For this purpose, the European Code has been adopted in this study.
For flexibility in dealing with equations related to lift parts, these equations have been derived to be more suitable for modification, which results from these needs for development or replacing of the lift parts.
A local case study produced by Hyundai Company lo the Governmental of Iraqi has been adopted to check the validation of the program.
Through this study, it is concluded that there are some of the most important parameters that should be given more aut-'inion which effect on the increasing or decreasing the lift capacity such as' the specification of the pulley groove, wire rope etc.
