English Abstract
This investigation is considered to study the change in the characteristic of oil well cement concrete incorporating pozzolanic materials after exposed to elevated temperatures ranging from 100 to 800 °C Six types of concrete were investigated: Reference ordinary Portland cement concrete, oil well cement concrete, ordinary Portland cement concrete with 30 % blast furnace slag or met kaolin as a partial replacement by weight of cement.
Also these ratios of replacement are used with oil well cement concrete.
The water-cement ratio or water-to-cementations' materials ratio was kept constant at 0.40.Uncrushed gravel and natural sand were us as coarse fine aggregates.
Concrete, test specimens were pose temperatures of 100, 200, 400, 600 and 800 °C and the period of exposure was 2 hours.
For all exposures, the heating or cooling rate was such as not to exceed 2 °C per minute.
Also, all tests were carried out in a way that the moisture was free to move out of the concrete as well as to escape from the heating chambers.
For each type of concrete, compressive strength, tensile splitting strength, flexural strength, dynamic modulus of elasticity and volume change were determined after 28 days of moist-curing (as control specimens) and after exposing the concrete to the required elevated temperature.
