English Abstract

The radar performance depends not only on its target's parameters but 1 on various environmental factors and on terrain features.

Therefore the hoi 0f radar siting on complex topography depends on many factors.

One to the important factors that affect the radar wave propagation is the reflection from the complex ground.

In the present work a modified software package is constructed to utilize close form solution for the simulation and modeling of radar wave propagation in the complex topography.

Man previous attempts were performed to construct the two-dimensional radar coverage in order to predict the target detection in height and range.

This package gives complete three-dimensional radar coverage by using new programming techniques.

The three-dimensional radar coverage gives real prediction of target detection in three dimensions height, range and azimuth which are very important for the detection and tracking purposes.

The results obtained in the present work involve study of the effects of changing the polarization of the reflection coefficient, the fluctuation of the aide cross section, transmitting factor model on the two dimensional radar coverage also the constructed three dimensional coverage is examined for changing the above parameters.

These results offer reliable facilities to distribute different radar stations in inlier complex topographies and geographical positions in order to locate and minimize the dead detection zones and give optimal distribution of the weapon systems against targets.
