English Abstract
Planning management is one of the fundamental bases of the construction management science .It comprises a number of functional processes, which are very necessary to perform efficient projects within schedule.
Construction projects often encounter several identical units such as multi-storey buildings, houses, highways, or channel.
..etc., which are characterized by repetitive activities.
In the field of building as elsewhere many techniques are available which can used to reduce the uncertainty inevitable in most judgments and can lead to an increase in the probability that the building will be constructed within the planning period.
Repetitive construction projects scheduling process is a complex interaction of skills, judgments, knowledge, I information, cost and time.
Design stage is adistinct I function in project management ; the design is all encompassing and includes feasibility and project master planning.
Achievement of decision support system DSS with optimum schedule requires certain management action which provides a practical approach to insure implementation all requirements to meet the economic targets of the project.
The research consists of firstly, review of available literature concerning various models for scheduling optimization of the repetitive construction projects ; secondly interviews were carried out with a selective sample of planning engineers to identify and collecting information about the reality of the research problem and thirdly an scheduling algorithm has been developed for schedule typical and non-typical repetitive construction projects.
In addition, a new optimization model for generation least cost or least duration schedules for repetitive construction projects has been developed which called "Mixed combinatorial-dynamic programming model" This Repetitive Project Scheduling with Optimization RPSWO DSS has been developed to provide the suitable answers to the most traditional construction projects planning questions.
RPSWO incorporates the newly developed mixed combinatorial- dynamic programming and provides least cost or least duration schedules that comply with activities precedence relationships, crew work continuity constraints.
In addition, it considered the user-specified order of execution among repetitive units.
Further, RPSWO DSS has been developed for optimized scheduling of repetitive construction projects.
RPSWO incorporates the newly developed mixed combinatorial-dynamic programming model - and provides least cost or least duration schedules that comply with precedence relationships, crew work continuity constraints.
In addition, it considered the user-specified order of execution among repetitive units.
During the DSS development, a number of algorithms and procedures were developed in order to perform the necessary scheduling calculations.
