English Abstract
Robust Hood optimal control theory has proven to be one of the best techniques in linear control system design.
The achievable robust stability and performance are high, but the resulting controllers are very complex and difficult to implement.
Magnetic levitation is an incident in which an object is suspended in the air through a balancing between the electromagnetic force and the gravity force.
Magnetic levitation systems have become an interesting field of study due to their numerous practical applications in research and industry.
In this thesis, a modeling of a magnetic levitation has been introduced.
A state feedback controller has been designed to achieve system stability.
Also a hood controller has been designed to provide both robust stability and performance.
The design objectives have been investigated and discussed.
Also force control evaluation is discussed and explained in a brief way.
The resulting controller is in continuous form, and it has been converted to discrete form to facilitate the interfacing with computers.
Hood controller design and discretization are made using the MATLAB environment.
The results are presented in which design objectives including robust stability, disturbance / noise rejection, and typical robust performance are achieved.
