English Abstract

This thesis is concerned with the analytic, numerical and approximate solutions of linear Iredholin integral equation of the second kind.

The proposed numerical methods are based on the extrapolation procedure coupled with closed Newton-Cotes formulas, while the approximate methods in this work arc employed by using variation1 technique with different types of basic functions including : algebraic polynomials, Legendre polynomials and Chcbyshcv polynomials.

In this technique, we may find many functions for every linear Fredholm integral equation of the second kind whose minimum is the solution of the problem.

Furthermore, the proposed algorithms have been applied for several examples.

We find the proposed methods produce satisfactory results.
