English Abstract
With an increasing number of Web services providing similar functionalities, more emphasis is being placed on service discovery, that is, how to find the service that best fits the consumer’s requirements.
Service discovery is composed of two basic steps: Matching and Selection.
In the matching step a group of web services that meet functional requirement are selected.
In the Selection step a more investigation is carried out to choose the best service that meet user non functional requirement.
In order to find services that satisfy user non functional requirements, the service consumers and discovery agents need to know both the Quality of Service (QoS) information for the services and the reliability of this information.
The problem, however, is that current UDDI registries have a weak web service search utility, they only support syntax oriented search.
Semantic level of the search query is not taken into account, also current Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) do not provide a method for service providers to publish the QoS information for their services, and their advertised QoS information of Web services is not always trustworthy.
Service consumers as well can't search for web services according to their QoS attributes.
In this thesis we approach the solution of efficient web service discovery through two steps.
First through designing a smart matching algorithm that enhances the process of matching.
Second through designing a model that supports reputation-enhanced Web services discovery with QoS.
The model monitor web services interactions and calculate rankings for web services that reflects the quality of web service.
Finally a service matching, ranking and selection algorithm is presented and evaluated.
