English Abstract
Several countries such as India, Ireland, and China established successful export-oriented Software industries ; Jordan is attempting to engage in similar activities.
This research investigates the Jordanian Software Industry by identifying success factors and challenges for Jordan to substantially increase software and IT services exports. A survey design and analysis was adopted as the method that guides the data collection and analysis , based on review the previous literature and empirical investigation of the software export industry in Jordan, a questionnaire has been prepared consisting of Forty one questions distributing over six independent variables (National Vision and Strategy, People, Infrastructure, Software Industry Characteristics, International markets and Government Support) and one dependent variable(Software Export Industry Success). The main question of the research is that : is there an impact of certain factors on the success of the Jordanian software export industry ? the overall results of the empirical investigation did support the general framework, presented in the research model..Using factor analysis and regression tests, the research hypotheses were tested.
The research statistical analysis ended up with various results, among them : All the critical success factors have significant effects on the success of the software export industry in Jordan, among the six critical success factors, people factor or human capital represents the factor that have more effect on the software export success than the other factors in Jordan , infrastructure ranked the second., national vision ranked the third , software industry characteristics ranked the fourth, International market ranked the fifth and government support ranked the sixth .
