English Abstract
Use work presented in this thesis covers the chronological history of using sJolfe columns in soft saturated soil as a technique for improving its geotechnical properties.
The thorough review of the different research papers available high lights on a number of points that require further investigation to reach a solid and practical understanding of the behavior of stone columns.
Limitations of using the theoretical approach, laboratory models and full scale models are fully discussed in due course.
