English Abstract
This work is in two parts, experimental work and computer programming Cu / Ni system was chosen for present work as the complete solid solution of the nickel copper system is suited for studies of interdiffusion and the Kirkendall effect.
Experimental work involves diffusion anneal foe (33, 45, 56) hours at 900X, and the markers movement was determined, both length changes and diameter changes occurring during inter-diffusion were measured Formation and distribution of porosity were observed by metallographic examination Alternative way for Matano-Boltzman graphical method has been suggested and then applied by using computer program to calculate variable diffusion coefficient.
The Matario-Roltzman graphical method used till now has certain disadvantages which restrict the accuracy of the evaluated intrinsic diffusion coefficient.
Intrinsic diffusion coefficient was calculated according to Darken's equations, vacancy flux and dimensional change are calculated as well.
Some of the data available in the literature have been treated and the results obtained using the program developed are compared with results available in the literature.
The comparison is generally in good agreement.
A second program has been developed using turbo Pascal to calculate activation energy (Q) and frequency factor (D0).
Two methods were used : weighted least square regression and without weight least square session.
Both methods were accompanied by statistical treatment.
The results obtained by both were methods compared with each other's Pending on the standard error (Se) and coefficient of determination (r2) the obtained by this program are compared with the data in the literatures, they are in good agreement.
