English Abstract

This study is mainly concerned with using the degree of freedom method to find the system control for the industrial unit.

This method depends on knowing the mathematical model of the industrial units that have been controlled.

Chemical plants have been chosen and controlled by using the degree of freedom method through the calculation of the number of input and output variables, then the degree of freedom which 15 reduced to the minimum to reduce the total cost of the plant.

Two cases of studies are 1 chosen for this work, these are : 1- The Glucose plant.

2- The Plant of Improving Benzene of UOP Company.

The result of tins work indicated that the optimum method used for controlling the plant of UOP Company gave a reduction in the total cost of instrumentation of about (27 %).
