English Abstract

Software design plays a major role in software engineering or a software project.

There are two design strategies that could be used to design a software project.

Those are : Functional design and Object or ten ted design Functional design is represented by using methods like structured design and functional decomposition , white object Oriented design has been described by methods tike Booch, Coad-Yourdom and ofthers.

It \ this thesis a new notation is presented, that could represent every software design, called Object Oriented Structured Design (OOSD) This notation is based on object oriented concepts and structured ideas.

The notation includes the basic symbols of structure charts and also supports object-oriented design concepts It is helpful to think of mapping front each object-oriented structured design OOSD symbol to the forget programming language ; therefore, the design goes further to detailed design using {Backus- Naur form).

While such a hybrid notation might not be so aesthetically appealing, still it does supports considerably such tasks as converting programs (and programmers) from C to C++.
