English Abstract
The design and implementation of push-pull DC-to-DC converter is presented It is an extremely versatile unit for a wide variety of military applications.
The proposed design is based on the principle of switching regulator e.
g.
SGI 524, capable of providing pulse width modulation, and contains all of the control circuitry necessary to implement DC-to-DC conversion.
MOSFET power transistors are used in this convener thus avoiding complicated drive circuitry, the switching frequency has been increased to 30KHz in view of the switching times of MOSFET power transistors being generally less than those of bipolar transistors, In consequence at the higher switching frequency the inductance becomes considerably lower This type of converter operates in a constant energy transfer mode.
The input energy can be conveniently adjusted as desired by the control circuit to maintain the output voltage or current constant.
The performance of the converter has been checked further by computer simulation (CAE) using two types of device models to simulate the SG 1524 ; i.
e a conventional detailed model and a state-average model.
An excellent agreement between the two results has been realized.
