English Abstract

Development of the Internet brought a lot of changes in the environment surrounding us.

And these changes have tremendous affect on business world.

In order for companies to succeed and stay competitive they are changing the way they do business.

One way to succeed is to integrate new technologies, such as distributed computing, wireless connectivity and so on, which allow users to access systems anywhere.

Internet-based systems make possible integration of intra-enterprise business processes, where client applications provide users with easy to understand and common for many systems interfaces.

Negotiations are inseparable part of majority of business transactions.

People negotiate over price, delivery terms, distribution of the scarce resources, etc.

all the time.

In this thesis we design an automated negotiation system which in our opinion will benefit all participation parties.

The proposed e-negotiation system should provide easy and fast way for its users to conduct negotiations.

We employ Case-Based reasoning to create offers on behalf of the client, which re-uses past experiences and allows avoiding situation that lead to failures.

Using multiple copies of an e-negotiation agent working concurrently let us obtain a better deal for the principal.

Performed analysis showed the improvement that can be achieved by using software agent technology as opposed to traditional client / server architecture on the Internet for the large number of negotiating episodes.
