English Abstract

Many acoustic parameters arc strictly a subjective terms.

It has no mint unless human's ear is involved along the way as an audio band receiver.

The normal hearing change that occurs with age is so gradual that an individual is often unaware of any hearing difference.

In addition, this sense is so sensitive to modem ambience impurity, which is filled with a relatively high intensity sounds or noises.

To prepare for some parameter measurement of our sense of hearing as a normal audio communication receiver, knowledge about communicational functions of the ear anatomy is previewed.

For any intensive acoustics research work, the essential prerequisite to be met, is to know exactly some parameters of the perform an of hearing using professional test equipment in a proper acoustic environment For this reason an acoustic booth is built in order to make subjective tests to the hearings performance of the people living in Iraq and to compare the results with those of other people living in some other countries.

A special attention is given to the response of the ear to the variation of frequencies in order to recognize the impaired hearings from the normal cases.

Results show that, thresholds of normal hearing for alt age-categorized Iraqi people are better than that done in the United States.

While most of random hearing impaired tested subject's shows better response at high frequency since the hearing impairment cause is not the high intensity music.

Applying a masking noise to the same ear cause a shift in thresholds depending upon frequency and level.

While masking of the opposite ear with threshold level will not affect perceived sound
