English Abstract

Based on the previous research, the current study was designed to measure the leadership behaviors of females versus males in Lebanese companies.

This research investigates any gender differences in the leadership styles between genders.

The researcher used The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) to collect data measuring the leadership styles and behaviors of participants.

The MLQ is based on Bass and Avolio (2000) full range leadership model.

MLQ investigates the perceptions of leadership behaviors, which represents the action and responsibility avoidance as in the case of Laissez Faire leadership.

MLQ questionnaires were administered to over 150 randomly selected participants.

All participants gave responses on voluntary basis and were given assurances that their responses would be kept confidentially.

The study seems to confirm that there is positive relationship between the transactional leadership contingent rewards and the transformational leadership and female manager’s effectiveness.
