Abstract EN

This research investigates the specifications of the general and their jurisprudential applications according to al- Shafi'c i.

The study aims at highlighting al- Shafi'c i's view about this issue, whether the specifications are connected to or separate from the general text.

This is done by investigating alShafi'c i’s book al-Risalah, some of the foundational texts which it includes, in addition to the investigation of the texts included in the books of scholars the foundations of Jurisprudence especially the Shafiite ones.

Linking this investigation with the Jurisprudential applications appeared in al-Rislah, alUmm and some other works of the foundations of Jurisprudence, we have highlighted and asserted the last of al–Shafi's views.

The present study reached the conclusion that al-Shafi'i considers separate specifications proofs, however there are some conditions for this.

Al-Shafi'si did consider reason and sense as any of the specifications.

The researcher recommends scholars and students to pay more attention to the investigation of the specifications of the general which have not been covered thoroughly in this study.
