English Abstract
A [4, 4, 4-trifluoro-l-(2, 5-dichlorothienyl)-l, 3-butane-dione] H (dc-TTA) was prepared according to a previously developed method and characterized by JH and 13C-NMR.
The extraction behavior of H(dc-TTA) and 4, 4, 4-trifluoro-l-(2-thienyl)-l, 3-butanedione H(TTA) with Lanthanum(III) and Cerium(III) ions was studied under different experimental conditions, such as, the effect of stripping acid concentration, stripping time, ligand concentration, pch values and temperature on the extraction processes. From the distribution coefficients data at different temperatures, enthalpy, free energy and the entropy changes associated with the extraction processes for these ions were determined.
The compositions of the formed complexes were established to be LaL3 and CeL3, where L = (dc-TTA) or (TTA).
It was found that H (dc-TTA) more efficient compared to H (TTA).
