Abstract EN
The in vivo Laser- induced chlorophyll fluorescence (LICF) spectra of cotton plant that is treated with pollutants were recorded in the region between 350-1000 nm, with two characteristic bands centered at 690 and 730 nm respectively, which was achieved utilizing 406 nm violet laser for the chlorophyll excitation.
The chlorophyll fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) F690 / F730 was calculated by evaluating curve parameters-peak intensity-using Gaussian spectral function.
It was found that FIR decreases as pollutants concentration increases (doses).
Also FIR was found to be decreasing as the leaf’s temperature increases.
The study presented in this article demonstrates the use of LICF spectra in detection and monitoring of air pollution and natural stresses such as heat on the commercial plants.
