Polyethylene oxide-grafted-polymethacrylic acid (PEO-g-PMAA) copolymer and polyethylene oxide-grafted-polyacrylamide (PEO-g-PAAm) copolymer materials are receiving growing attention in many fields, especially their applications in medicine.
These papers cover the preparation and the physicochemical characterization of these materials in the form of ternary system of polyethylene oxide–polymethacrylic acid-polyacrylamide (PEO-PMAA-PAAm) interpolymer complex (IPC).
The presence of hydrogen bondings were studied by FTIR analysis and equilibrium swelling ratio measurements which also give information about the molecular transport of liquid into the polymer matrix.
Thermal behaviour of different monomers mol ratios of the IPC's were explained in terms of their Tm's and TG's values.
The homogeneous morphology with interconnected microsphers of the prepared IPC have a competable physicochemical properties of which can be used in bio-filtration process.
Moreover Molecular mechanics calculations were used to shed some light about the structure and stability of the IPC.
