The effect of using pictorial story style on the acquisition of new English vocabulary by sixth primary pupils

The current research aims at investigating the effect of using pictorial story style on the acquisition of new English vocabulary by sixth primary pupils during the academic year (2008-2009).

The sample of the study consists of (66) female pupils ; (33) pupils represent the experimental group which has been taught by using pictorial story style, and (33) pupils represent the control group which has been taught by using the conventional method.

The researcher has adopted the pre-and post-tests equivalent groups as an experimental design, and has prepared a new English vocabulary test to verify the hypotheses of the research.

Using T-test of two separated groups, the results show statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in favour of the experimental group.
