English Abstract
Melting of solids has been investigated in respect with their core electron concentration.
It was found a systematic decrease of melting for groups III, IV, and V with increasing of their core electron concentration except for group elements.
Five models for calculating nanoparticles size dependence melting point were investigated, among them, the Shi-Jiang’s model is found to be the best in comparison with that of the experimental data taken from references.
The Shi-Jiang model is re-derived with the effect of lattice volume of nanoparticles size dependent melting point.
Depending on the models been reported for lattice volume dependence on nanoparticles size for Si, models were derived for nine elements, investigated among groups mentioned above and CdS.
The derived size dependent model was used to calculate the nanoparticles size dependent melting point elements of metals, semiconductors and CdS.
A systematic dependence were found for both the melting entropy Sm and S vib vibrational entropy for elementary solids versus Tm, and also mean bonding length d mean versus the materials surface layer inter-planer distance b.
