Abstract EN

This study closely investigates the methodology Arab grammarians follow in substantiating evidence and establishing rules of grammar.

Scrutinizing such a methodology, one can discern how systematic and organized it is, based on solid philosophy with symmetrical rules and fundamentals that this research, has to explore.

The researcher has adopted the vocative lesson as an applied model wherein such methodological fundamentals are explicitly manifested.

The research consists of two sections: the first is theoretical and the second is applied.

In the former, the researcher has presented theoretical pieces of evidence that these grammarians adopted in abstracting grammar and syntactic rules.

In the applied section, the researcher used a theoretical study of the evidence used by the grammarians whereas in the practical side, the researcher studied the evidence of listening, measurement and vocatives.

This methodology has stemmed from Iben Aqeel annotations.

The researcher has reviewed all these issues and traced them back as presented by Sibawayh till Ibnu Aqeel.
