English Abstract
-A new analytical method will be proposed for the analysis of Terbutaline and will be validated to be use on routine and quality control analysis, without possible interference problems derived from other substances which frequently appear in the formulations.
Stimulated use test will be implemented in order to study how the use of the MDI affects the concentration of the delivered drug and the shot weight per actuation.
Photophysical properties of Terbutaline shows that; the Terbutaline exhibits a characteristic bands at in the range of 252 -287 nm.
Solvents were found to have small effect on the position of the absorption and emission peaks; however, solvents properties affect the fluorescence quantum yield.
The fluorescence intensity of the cationic species is appreciably quenched in the presence of strong acids such as H2SO4 and HCl, albeit the absorption and excitation shape of peak in spectra remain unchanged.
In the presence of sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid the fluorescence decay curves gave always good single exponential fit whose life time decrease as sulfuric acid concentration increase.
