English Abstract

-In this work, we examined systems of weakly-interacting atomic gases confined in an isotropic harmonic trap and described by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation.

Using the variational approach, we selected a Gaussian trial function containing two parameters, which were determined by minimizing the energy of the system.

We calculated the energy of the system and examined the cases of small & large condensates.
