تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقديم مدى الوعي البيئي لدى المستهلك العراقي و مدى تبنيه لمفهوم التسويق الأخضر و استهلاك مواد صديقة للبيئة، و لتحقيق ذلك فقد تم صياغة الأسئلة البحثية التالية : موقف منظمات الأعمال العراقية تجاه التسويق الأخضر و ما مدى تبني المستهلك العراقي لثقافة استهلاك صديقة للبيئة و داعمة للتسويق الأخضر و ما هي اتجاهات المستهلك العراقي نحو قضايا التسويق البيئي بشكل عام و يشمل مجتمع البحث لهذه الدراسة طلبة جامعة بغداد، و قد تم سحب عينة ميسرة من هذا المجتمع بلغت (350) طالب و طالبة، حيث قام الباحث بجمع البيانات بتوزيع الاستبانة على أفراد العينة باستخدام أسلوب التوزيع و الجمع المباشر (Drop-off) و من خلال شبكة المنتديات و الإنترنيت للحصول على البيانات المطلوبة، و قد تم استرجاع (275) نسخة استبانة صالحة للاستخدام، أي بنسبة استرداد بلغت (76 %) و قد تم جمع البيانات في النصف الأول من عام 2010، يشير جدول رقم (1) إلى توزيع أفراد العينة سب المتغيرات الديمغرافية المستخدمة، و هي الجنس و الدخل (أي دخل الأسرة بالنسبة للطالب)، هذا و قد تم استبعاد بعض المتغيرات الديمغرافية مثل العمر و مستوى التعليم نظرا لأنها ثابتة نسبيا في مجتمع هذه الدراسة، فجميع أفراد هذا المجتمع من الفئة العمرية الشابة (18-24 سنة).
و أخيرا خرج الباحث بمجموعة من التوصيات و الاستنتاجات التي أثرت البحث.
