يناقش هذا البحث موضوع الموت في بعض أعمال ارنست همنغواي و يبحث في العلاقة بين كل من حياة الكاتب و النص من خلال النظرية التفككية الدورية التي تفيد بان الكاتب همنغواي قام بالانتحار بعدما حكم على الشخصيات الموجودة في النص بالموت.
و يظهر هذا النمط في شكل منتظم ليعكس الفكرة المقترحة في هذا البحث و هي انه كان من المتوقع أن همنغواي سيقدم على الانتحار اعتمادا على بعدين و هما تاريخ حالات الانتحار في عائلته و الحكم بالموت المجازي على الشخصيات في أعماله.
و لذلك، فإن هذا البحث يفترض أن الكتابة عن الموت أو الانتحار لبعض الشخصيات في نص همنغواي يكافئ رغبة المؤلف بالانتحار، و أن الأسئلة الوجودية في النص الأدبي لهمنغواي تؤدي إلى الكتابة عن الموت المجازي و من ثم أداء الموت أو الانتحار الفعلي، في نهاية المطاف.
و تحلل هذه الدراسة رغبة الموت لدى الكاتب همنغواي في قصص قصيرة أربع، و هي : "مكان نظيف، حسن الإضاءة"، "السيد و السيدة إليوت"، "القطة تحت المطر"، و "تلال مثل الفيلة البيضاء".
Abstract EN
This paper explores both author and text and theorizes that they are in one systematic cyclical form of deconstruction; Hemingway deconstructed himself / his life through suicide, after deconstructing characters in his texts.
This paper proposes that it was foreseen that Hemingway would commit suicide after a history of suicides in both his family and his works.
This paper analyzes “A Clean, Well-Lighted Place”, “Mr.
and Mrs.
Elliot”, “Cat in the Rain”, and “Hills Like White Elephants” and concludes that the author’s preoccupation with ‘symbolic’ death which is evident throughout his writing career lead him to write death and perform it eventually.
