Analysis of variance for combining ability in 6-parent diallel (excluding reciprocals) of durum wheat (Triticum durum, Desf.) revealed the following results.

The analysis of variance for combining ability showed that mean squares due to general combining ability (GCA) as well as specific combining ability (SCA) were highly significant for all studied traits indicating the importance of both additive and non-additive gene effects with the preponderance of non-additive type of gene effects for yield and most of its components.
