Abstract AR
Abstract EN
The response of three broad bean cultivars to natural infections with leaf spot caused by Alternaria alternata A.
and broad bean rust caused by Uromyces viciae-fabae (Pers.) Schroet was evaluated in a field experiment conducted under Jordan Valley conditions using two irrigation types.
Disease incidence was started in March.
Infection of the cultivar Cyprus with leaf spot was increased with drip irrigation more than that of sprinkler irrigation compared with the other two cultivars, and then it decreased with the progress of the growing season.
Sprinkler irrigation resulted with the increased percentage of leaf spot infection on Minor Beck, Equina and Cyprus from the first evaluation to the second evaluation by 180%, 210% and 140% and in drip irrigation by 106%, 87% and 84% receptively.
Sprinkler irrigation markedly increased rust disease development more prominent than leaf spot.
Cultivar Minor Beck showed the highest rust severity with both irrigation types.
