يتركز هذا البحث التجريبي على بيان قيم الأدلة في النغمة الصوتية هبوطا أو ارتفاعا في كلا العرب في اللغة لإنجليزية و قد استخدم زوجين من الجمل و في كل منهما جملة خبرية و أخرى استفهامية و طلب من طالب يدرس اللغة الإنكليزية كلغة أجنبية و آخر من الناطقين بالإنجليزية كلغة أم تسجيل الجمل في جهاز التحليل الصوتي المحوسب لاستخراج قيم النغمة الدلالية فيها. تشير النتائج الرقمية لهذه الدراسة أن متعلم اللغة الإنكليزية قد أخفق في لفظ هذه الجمل كما فعل الناطق بالإنجليزية من حيث إنتاج الدلالة الرقمية المطلوبة لكل نوع من الجمل ذات العلاقة لبيان فيما إذا كانت جملة خبرية و التي تتطلب انخفاضا في النغمة أو التردد أم استفهامية و التي لا بد أن ترتفع قيمة التردد فيها لتدل المستمع على هذا النوع من الجمل.
إن مثل هذه المشكلة قد تعود لضعف في مناهج اللغة الإنجليزية و التي غالبا ما تهمل الميزات فوق الصوتية لمصلحة التدريب على الفونيمات.
و هذا يستدعي إعادة النظر في مثل هذا الاتجاه لتحقيق قدر أفضل في التواصل بلغة أكثر سلامة و قدرة على إيصال المعنى و السلوك المقصود.
Abstract EN
This experimental research is intended to report on the formant values of falling and rising Arab-accented English tunes.
Two pairs of sentences were prepared for acoustical analysis.
Each pair consists of one declarative and one interrogative sentence.
The subjects were a native speaker of English and an Arabic speaker learning English as a foreign language.
Findings indicate that the second subject is inconsistent in his production of the formant values (i.e.
Fo) to indicate a proper fall for declarative structure and an accurate rise to maintain a native-like interrogative one.
This problem can be attributed, in part, to the fact that non-native speakers are fundamentally trained on the segmental units of the target language.
