تظل العدوى بميكروب السالمونيلا مشكلة هامة للإنسان و الحيوان على مستوى العالم.
و قد أجريت هذه الدراسة لإلقاء الضوء على تأثير السالمونيلا المعزولة العصافير الدورية و اليمام على مزارع الدجاج.
في هذا البحث, تم إجراء العدوى معمليا للكتاكيت عند عمر 3 أيام بمعزولات السالمونيلا باستخدام أنبوب خاص بالحوصلة, و قد ظهرت عليها أعراض مرضية بعد اليوم الثالث من العدوى, تتلخص في إسهامات (بعضها مدمم), التجمع حول بعضها, عدم انتظام الزغب, عد الإقبال على الأكل, تهدل الأجنحة و كذلك بعض الأعراض العصبية في مجموعة الكتاكيت التي تمت عدواها بالسالمونيلا كنتاكي و وصلت نسبة إلى % 80 خلال 7 أيام.
بينما في المجموعات الأخرى التي تمت عدواها بالسالمونيلا تيفيميوريم المعزولة من العصافير الدورية و اليمام لم تظهر عليها أعراض مرضية.
و قد أظهرت فحوصات الأنسجة درجات متفاوتة من التحلل و التنكرز في عينات الكبد و الطحال و كذلك درجات متفاوتة من الالتهابات المعوية في الكتاكيت التي تمت عدواها بالسالمونيلا كنتاكي بينما لم تظهر تغيرات مرضية واضحة في مجموعات الطيور التي تمت عدواها بالسالمونيلا تيفيميوريم المعزولة من العصافير الدورية و اليمام.
Abstract EN
The present study was carried out to investigate the outcome of Sal-monella serovars infections which may be transmitted to chickens by wild birds.
The experimental infection of 3 days old balady chicks with S.
Ken-tucky (orally by using crop tube), resulted in lethargy, ruffled down, off food, huddling, dropped wings, neurologic dysfunctions and diarrhea with 80 % mortalities within one week.
While in some chicks infected with S.
Typhimurium from house sparrows and laughing doves, clinical signs were mild.
Re-isolation of the inoculated serovars was possible after 3 days post inoculation.
In S.
Kentucky infected chicks, histopathological examination of the liver showed severe inflammatory changes characterized by severe congestion, massive leukocytic infiltration and hyperplasia of bile ducts, while the intestine showed severe catarrhal enteritis.
On the other hand, in S.
Typhimurium infected group, the only observed changes were mild de-generation of the tips of intestinal villi.
