أبحر الشاعر الرومانسي الإنجليزي بايرون إلى دول البحر الأبيض المتوسط, مستكشفا حياة الشرق, و جمالها, و تقاليد سكان هذه الدول التي لم تكن مألوفة للقارئ الإنكليزي في القرنين الثامن و التاسع عشر.
و قد حقق الشاعر نجاحا منقطع النظير في قصائد مغامراته هذه التي صورت أوجه الحياة المختلفة في تلك المنطقة و اصطبغت بألوان الشرق, مما عاد عليه بالشهرة و الشعبية التي لا مثيل لها في دول أوروبا كلها.
و بذلك نجح بايرون في إرساء قواعد ثابتة لنموذج شخصية الأديب الرومانسي, مما جعله واحدا من أكثر شعراء القرن التاسع عشر الرومانسيين تأثيرا خارج بلده إنكلترا.
Abstract EN
The English Romantic poet George Gordon Byron set out to the Mediterranean exploring life, beauties, and traditions that seemed odd to the English readers of the 18th and 19th centuries.
He notched up great success in portraying the different aspect of life in the Levant in travel verse romances that brought him fame and unique popularity in Europe.
He succeeded in establishing the European type of the romantic artist, a trait that made him the most influential 19th century English Romantic Poet outside England.
