Retrospective study for patients of Nutritional Rehabilitation Center(NRC) in ALZAHRAA .
H ALNAJAF governorate ,between March 1996 –October 2006, taking the patients admitted to this center with severmalnutrition with organic diseases or only pure malnutrition. After admission the patients examined, investigated evaluated and treated (wich should include medical treatments and nutrition according to WHO protocols for treatment of sever malnutrition). From the total 2676patients , only 1467enrolled in this study 725 (49.4 %) Female, 742 (50.6 %) Male,584 (39.8 %) from rural areas, 883 (60.2 %) from urban, most of the patients 1316 (89.7 %) below tow years of ageand only 151 (10.3 %) above 2y, number of patients with pure malnutrition were385 (26.2 %) including with them 23 patients with edema, and patients with organic diseases were 1082 (73.8 %) including with them 15 patients with septicemia , 412 (28 %)patients cut thier treatment in the hospital.
Only 16 patiets died in the world. From the high number of patients with organic diseases and relatively high percentage of patients whom cut thier treatment, ignorace apear as logical cause, which looks to be more clear in rural areas(throw thier low number and higher percentage of sever presentation-4SD, patients with generalised edema and death).
