Abstract EN

Twenty four patients with infected non union of the lower tibia had been treated at Aldiwania teaching hospital during period between (2003-2007), by using biplane (A.

O) external fixation with manual compression cross non union site.

Twenty two cases are male, two cases are female. Age of the patients were between (20-40).

Union with excellent to fair result has been achieved in 20 cases (83.3 %), while poor result with failure of union in 4 cases (16.6 %). From these result we conclude that (A.

O) external fixator is beneficial in treating such cases specially in our locality.

and bi- planer configuration is more stable than uniplaner one.
