Over weight in school age children

Obesity is important problem in school age children.

It should be manage properly because it is associated with many complications later on during the adult life like diabetes mellitus type 2 , hypertension , hyperlipidemia.

This study was conducted to assess the incidence of obesity in school age children, the difference between urban and rural school and also the difference between both sex.

Two hundred fifty case [250] included in this study.

One hundred [100] from rural school devided as fifty [50] male and fifty [50] female, one hundred fifty [150] are male and female from urban school divided as one hundred [100] male and fifty [50] female.

In this study the result showed that the obesity is more common in urban school than the rural one and more in male than in female.
