Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the alienation in the social mode among university youth, it used the analytical descriptive methodology.

The researcher used a questionnaire of (50) items, each representing an aspect of alienation, and allocated into six domains: norms loss, social isolation, control loss, indifference, estrangement, meaning loss questionnaire.

The study tool was administered to a sample of (203) students based on three variables: gender, study level, and GPA.

The results showed that the aspects of alienation on the total scale were moderate in degree; the norms loss domain came in the first rank, followed by meaning loss, then social isolation, estrangement, control loss, and finally indifference.

The results also showed that there were no significant differences on the scale of alienation due to gender, except for the control loss variable, in the favor of females; furthermore, it showed that there were no significant differences on the scale of alienation due to study level in all domains.

There were also no significant differences on the scale of alienation due to GPA except for the indifference domain which showed significant differences.
