Some Hadith critics criticized certain narrators and their narrations using highly accurate expressions with specific denotations.

They classified those expressions into specific categories under the heading “Signifiers of Hadith Authentication or criticism.” Most Hadith scholars used those expressions consistently.

However, some traditionists used the same expressions but with different denotations as if they were their own special terms.

This paper examined some of the expressions and terms and indicated their meanings as intended by those critics.
