English Abstract

The present research provides a comparative presentation of three legislations_Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi_on the crime of torture.

The research is divided into various segments_Introduction, two Sections and a Conclusion.

Introduction provides a penetrating discussion on human rights and importance of maintaining human physical integrity.

The phenomenon of torture is elaborated with some historical glimpses.

Also amplified are commendable endeavors made by international community on the subject.

Last but certainly not the least is the pertinent stance of Islamic Sharia.

Section One analyzes the offence of torture within the contextual settings of three legislations jjjj Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi.

All the relevant issues are expanded at length.

Section Two sheds light on the penalty prescribed for the torture offence.

Respective penal and procedural issues involved are illuminated.

The present research, in its conclusive passages, presents its salient findings and constructive recommendations.
