يتناول هذا البحث دراسة التراكيب السببية من اللغة الإنكليزية و يسلط الضوء على مختلف أشكالها و معانيها، فضلا عن الصعوبات التي تتسبب فيها لدارسي اللغة الإنكليزية من غير المتكلمين بها، و تشتمل على ملحق من تمارين مقترحة لمعالجة أخطاء الطلبة و مساعدتهم في التغلب على المشكلات لدى التعامل مع التراكيب السببية.
و تفترض الدراسة أن التراكيب السببية تنشأ عنها صعوبات لا يستهان بها لمتعلمي اللغة الإنكليزية لكونها معقدة من الناحيتين اللغوية و الإدراكية، و لإمكانية ظهورها في أشكال متنوعة من البنى النحوية السطحية في اللغة الإنكليزية و لقد أثبتت نتائج البحث الفرضيات التي وضعت لها من الصعوبات التي تشكلها التراكيب السببية لمتعلمي اللغة الإنكليزية من الطلبة لما تنطوي عليه من أشكال و معان 7 معقدة و متنوعة.
