Abstract EN

The research tackles the semantic field of a grammatical particle n Arabic grammar, the anaphoric reference of the third person pronoun in sentence structure.

Grammarians of Arabic language say that the third person pronoun has anaphoric reference in six syntactic constructions the predicate integrated pronoun, subject pronoun related to subject / object, Ni'ma / bis'a interpreted pronoun, Rubba accusative pronoun apposition interpreted pronoun and the anecdote pronoun the last construction is beyond the scope of the study for its interpreter of pronoun is a sentence, not singular.

It is necessary to explain the reason that has made the grammarians post pone the reference of the pronoun in these grammatical constructions though they support the non – avoidance of elipsis before mentioning it in the other construction.

This is possibly owed to their intention of revering speech and making it influence the listener.

It is obvious that this style has a role in the suspence of speech; when the thing is vaguely mentioned, the listener visualises many things and finds suspence in its complementation.

Has the interpreter of the thing been mentioned later, it turns effective inside the listener.

The research has an organic unity.

It is prefaced with an introduction in which the conept of pronoun is tackled linguistically and idiomatically according to Basrah and Kufa schools grammar.

After that, the antecedence and referentiality of the third person pronoun in Arabic language, and its position in the Arabic sentence are discussed.

Then, the body of the research is discussed in which each aforementioned grammatical construction is sufficiently detailed
