يدرس هذا البحث زمن بداية الجهر (VOT) في اللهجة العربية الموصلية.
لقد استخدمت الأصوات الإنفجارية الستة / p, t, k, b, d, g / قبل أصوات العلة في ثنائيات صغرى (minimal pairs)، قبل صوت علة مغلق (close vowel) ثم قبل صوت علة غير مغلق (non-close vowel) و أدخلت في كلمات عرضت على عشرة من الناطقين باللهجة العربية الموصلية و طلب منهم قرائتها.
تم تسجيل القراءة و تحليلها باستخدام برنامج حاسوب يعطي تحليلا طيفيا لكل كلمة.
بين الفحص الدقيق للثنائيات الصغرى أن الأصوات الإنفجارية المهموسة، دون الأصوات المجهورة التي تقابلها، أظهرت نمطا موحدا من الزيادة في زمن بداية الجهر (VOT) مرتبطة بمخارج الأصوات، كما لوحظت النتيجة ذاتها عندما كانت الأصوات المهموسة متبوعة بصوت علة مغلق أو غير مغلق رغم أن قيم زمن بداية الجهر (VOT) في الحالة الأخيرة (أي قبل صوت علة مغلق) كانت أوطأ.
Abstract EN
This paper is a study of voice onset time, VOT, in Mosuli Arabic.
The six stops / p, t, k, b, d, g / were used in prevocalic position : in minimal pairs, before a close vowel and before a nonclose vowel, and were embedded in words which were presented to ten native speakers of Mosuli Arabic to read.
Recordings were made and analyzed using a computer software that generated a spectrogram for each word.
Examination of minimal pairs showed that the voiceless stops, unlike their voiced counterparts, exhibited a unified pattern of VOT increase correlated with place of articulation.
The same result was observed when the voiceless stops were followed by a close or a nonclose vowel, though VOT values in the latter case were lower.
