Abstract EN
COFFOR is a new structural formwork system used for construction of reinforced concrete walls.
The structural behavior of walls cast using this system under the effect of lateral loads was studied.
The contribution of the stay in place COFFOR formwork in the lateral ultimate strength of the walls is investigated.
An experimental program included four half scale reinforced concrete walls cast using COFFOR formwork was executed.
A theoretical study based on the ultimate strength design theory was preformed to evaluate the wall strength.
The results showed that the COFFOR formwork improved the shear strength of the walls, however, the ultimate flexural capacity was governed by dowels between the wall and its foundation.
