في هذا البحث، تم تحليل الاستقرارية لطريقتي العناصر المحددة لكليركن لحل نظام التفاعل-الانتشار مع تفاعل عكسي سريع.
و لقد تم تطبيق طريقة فوريير (فون نيومان) لإيجاد معيار خطوة الزمن للطريقتين المتسقة و المكتلة و لأربع اختيارات معروفة لـ ᶿ.
و قد وجدنا أن كلتا الطريقتين مستقرتين على نحو غير مشروط عندما 1/2 ≤ ᶿ ≤ 1 بينما تكون الطريقة المتسقة مستقرة تحت الشروط Δt ≤ (Δx)2 / 6a و Δt ≤ (Δx)2 / 6b عندما ᶿ = 0، أما الطريقة المكتلة فتكون مستقرة تحت الشروط Δt ≤ (Δx)2 / 2a و Δt ≤ (Δx)2 / 2b عندما ᶿ = 0.
