تم حساب المتوسطات الشهرية للإشعاع الشمسي فوق وسط البحر الأحمر بواسطة طريقتين, و كان المتوسط السنوي 287 واط / م2 و 292 واط / م2.

و باستخدام معامل تصحيح (0.92), و ضعف الطاقة الإشعاعية نتيجة وجود السحب, وجد أن المتوسط السنوي 252 واط / م2.

و عند مقارنة مقدار الإشعاع الشمسي الشهري المحسوب, بمقدار الإشعاع الشمسي الشهري المقاس في خمسة محطات بالقرب من خط العرض المار بمنتصف البحر الأحمر, و جد أن هناك 11% تطابقا ما بين المقدارين.

و قد تعزى هذه النسبة المنخفضة لوجود بيئة صحراوية تحيط بالبحر الأحمر, مما يسبب في وجود أتربة عالقة في عمود الهواء.

Abstract EN

The monthly means of clear sky insolation over the central Red Sea were estimated by Smithsonianís and Lumbís formulae and their annual averages were 287 W.mñ2 and 292 W.mñ2.

With the cor-recting factor of 0.92 and the attenuation by clouds, the annual aver-age was 252 W.mñ2.

The monthly estimated radiations are then com-pared with the recorded radiations from five stations around the latitudinal belt of the central Red Sea.

An 11% average reduction of the estimated radiations agreed well with the recorded radiations.

This reduction has been attributed to the aerosols as the Red Sea lies in a dusty environment.
