أجريت هذه الدراسة بمنطقة الشوك عام 1999 م تمت فيها مقارنة مساكات المياه في شكل اليو و اللام مع الشاهد ثم جريت 6 أنواع من شتول الأشجار هي السيال و الكتر و الطلح و السدر و الهجليج و المورنقا.

تم تحديد الرطوبة النسبية بعد موسم الأمطار و أوضحت النتائج أن استعمال المساكات زاد من رطوبة الأرض إلى 17.9% مقارنة بـ 13.1% بالنسبة للشاهد و بالتالي زادت نسبة الشتول الحية لجميع أنواع الأشجار مقارنا بالشاهد.

Abstract EN

The study was conducted at Showak area during season 1999 / 2000.

U shaped and L shaped water micro catchment treatment was compared with a control.

Seedlings from six tree species were tested.

They are Acacia tortilis subspp.radiana, Acacia mellifea, Acacia seyal, Zizyphus spina-christi, Balanites aegyptiaca and Moringa oleifera.

Gravimetric moisture content was determined after the rainy season.

Results indicated that the U shaped micro-catchments increased soil moisture content to an average of 17.

The survival rate percent had increased in the micro catchments for all tree species.
