Abstract AR
Abstract EN
A field experiment was carried out at Khartoum State (Elmogran area Latitude.15o 40 / N, Longitude 32o 32 / E and altitude 380m asl) during the periods October-December 2004 and October-December 2005 to study the susceptibility of some citrus species to the citrus leaf miner (CLM) Phyllocnsitis citrella (Stainton) by using Randomize Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replic-ations.
Samples of six leaves from each tree were collected weekly and the number of P.
citrella larvae was recorded.
The lime harboured significantly higher number of larvae compared with sour orange, grapefruit, orange or mandarin that harboured the least number of larvae.
Confirm along experiment was conducted at Shambat Research Station (SRS), during October/2004 at an average temperature of 25 ± 3ºC and relative humidity (R.
H) of 42.
3-51.
7 %.
The egg incubation period and the duration of larval and pupal stage of P.citrella in the five citrus species were studied.
The lime showed the shortest larval duration among the other tested species.
The results showed that lime is the most susceptible to P.
citrella compared with the other tested species.
