Abstract EN

This research highlights the restrictions stipulated in UAE legislations regarding the use of weapons against suspects or criminals who attempt escape or show resistance.

The subject is handled through determining the use of weapons in a legal arrest warrant which can be either in implementation of law in general or an order issued by a senior officer who should be obeyed.

However in both cases, certain rules and conditions should be fulfilled and considered in using weapons.

The treatise endeavors to shed the light on these rules that the investigation officer along with policemen should abide by when using weapons in cases of arrest and inspection.

The research also probes the liability of investigation officer in the unauthorized use of weapons.

The study is summed up with that investigation officer is allowed to use weapons as per the law, and he will not be held responsible in case the use resulted in any injury to the accused, and vice versa.

The officer will not be held responsible in case of inadvertence or obeying an order issued by seniors.

In its epilogue, the research stresses the necessity of getting investigation officer acquainted with conditions and restrictions of using weapon against outlaws.
